About me

About me

I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and EMDR Consultant & Facilitator with over 10 years experience of using EMDR in a broad variety of settings including Crisis and Home Treatment Teams (CRHT), adult inpatient units, Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT’s) and in inpatient Neurological Rehabilitation Units. In addition, I have worked for the fire service in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Norfolk.

I have supervised a broad range of EMDR trained professionals including counsellors, psychotherapists, Clinical, Forensic and Counselling Psychologists for the past 6 years in EMDR. I offer EMDR supervision to several NHS Trusts as well as employee assistance programmes for the police and fire service. I am used to working with highly complex cases and helping others to navigate the best way forward. I have helped several supervises’ gain accreditation with EMDR UK and I enjoy helping people to grow.

I have presented at conferences in both EMDR Europe and EMDR UK on using EMDR with clients in suicidal crisis teams as well as on routine outcomes of using EMDR with clients with complex trauma in CMHT’s. Furthermore, I have co authored a case series with Simon Proudlock, EMDR Trainer, on using EMDR with clients in CRHT settings. Simon has since published further in the area and now EMDR is deemed to be a safe therapy to use in these settings. I am now working towards becoming a fully recognised Clinical Neuropsychologist with the British Psychological Society. I have developed adaptations to the EMDR standard protocol and a publication on Neuro EMDR is in press with EMDR Quarterly. I have a special interest and, I have applied, EMDR with clients who have experienced brain injury. I can offer Neuropsychological and EMDR supervision in this specialist area as well.I can offer individual, group and group supervision sessions to NHS trusts.
